Popular Talks
Employee Engagement
I define positive employee engagement, discuss the reasons why it’s important, explain the cost of disengagement, share my philosophy on the importance of a top-down, bottom-up, inside-out solution, and provide a framework for creating an engaging environment.
Career Branding and Strategy Presentations
Resume Strategy, Job Search Strategy, Communication & Networking, Cover Letters, Job Interviews are five career branding and strategy presentations I’ve been giving for the past 8 years or so. I’ve presented to groups of MBA students, Technical Bootcamp students, and private clients in groups and individual sessions. These are each about 2 hours long. Through my work with Collective Engagement I expect to have more “internalized” versions of these presentations – as I transition my work from a B2C model to B2B. In other words, adapting these presentations for corporate audiences who want to stay at their companies, but be happier and more fulfilled.
Consulting
As a professional executive recruiter, career strategy consultant, and ICF certified coach, I’m uniquely positioned to understand workplace dynamics, challenges, and opportunities. I’ve worked with Fortune 250 C-suite executives to hourly employees – everyone has value, everyone has dreams, everyone wants to contribute in a meaningful way. I provide opportunities for gently guided introspection – leading to a recognition and appreciation of one’s own agency – resulting in positive action.
“I worked with Etienne as a career coach at a pivotal crossroads in my career. I was dissatisfied with what I was doing, but needed help articulating my story and how to make one aspect of my job into the focus of my next career move. Etienne was a thought partner who provided valuable insights, frameworks and tools that I’ve continued to use over the past four years. I highly recommend working with her if you find yourself in a career transition!”

“Etienne is someone that you can’t help but admire from the moment you meet her. She possesses energy, enthusiasm, insightfulness, a great sense of humor and unprecedented values and ethics. She does the right thing, at the right time in the right situation. I have worked with her on both sides of her business – as a candidate and as a client. She exhibits nothing but professionalism, asks thoughtful questions, knows her business upside down and sideways and is extremely well connected. She doesn’t just get the job done, she will exceed your expectations. Plus, she is just plain awesome and down to earth. I am proud of her and how she has grown her business, I am proud to call her a friend and I would never for a second hesitate to recommend her!”
– Boston Neary, Sales and Marketing Director, LCB Senior Living
“Etienne is such a bright light and a true joy to work with. She is excellent at honing in on a person’s strengths and conveying them through tactful writing on resumes and cover letters. Etienne went above and beyond to meet with me, even outside of regular hours, to help edit and tighten up resumes and cover letters to meet deadlines. I always felt like she was one of my largest career supporters and even though SIMBA is in my past, I feel as though I could reach out to her with any questions and she would be more than happy to help. Etienne is an incredible person and always wants people to succeed on their own unique path. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for career guidance and support!”
– Laine Rooney, Associate, Supply Chain Certification, Rainforest Alliance
“Etienne worked tirelessly to help me completely re-work my resume, personal statement, and cover letter style and to develop my job hunt strategy. She did not stop until we were both 100% satisfied with the output. Etienne’s energy is unmatched by anyone I know (seriously!) and her ability to take my story and organize it effectively was amazing. For resume support, cover letter creation, job hunt focus and strategy, and overall mentorship, I could not recommend Etienne any more!”
– Dan Lazarus, Senior Project Manager, GreenCircle Certified
“Working with Etienne was wonderful. It was beautiful. Full of light and joy, even the hard work of digging deep into my history, into my stories. Etienne was terribly encouraging, she has the beautiful heart full of love that embraced me via zoom and gave me the strength through the hard work, and then celebrated with me when we reach each of the many achievements along the way; from uncovering gems of insights from my work to find the perfect words to convey those insights. It was a wonderful experience and I think of that time very fondly. I looked forward to it every time and left full of gratitude and joy. My finished resume showed exactly who I was, what I was able, what I could do, and more importantly, how I would do it (i.e. my values). It is very hard to communicate engineering competence while also honoring the non-specifically engineering skills which are also incredible valuable assets to doing engineering work. Etienne helped me craft a resume that showed all of me, encompassing my engineering background and skills as well as my humanities, leadership, and community organizing work and experience. Now I work at a place that values me for all of me. I cannot emphasize enough how huge a difference this has made for my personal satisfaction in my job, and the numerous and profound ways in which my organization has benefited from bringing me on in a way that clearly articulated that they wanted me for all of what I brought, and not just my engineering chops.”
