Gun Violence in America
Turning a family’s personal story about multiple encounters with gun violence into lessons of resilience, strength in community, and how we can all do a part to tackle this public health crisis. The collective trauma and fear around firearm violence is palpable, and this is an issue that we can work together to address once and for all.
Resilience: A Survivor’s Story
With storytelling expertise, Tony recounts a personal lived experience of an active shooter event—how he and his family survived a shooting at a local store while shopping for his youngest daughter’s 7th birthday. He shares how that experience has impacted him as a human, as a father, and as someone who tells social impact stories through video for a living.
“I’m blown away by how Myriad has seamlessly managed so many large-scale projects for us in the past couple months—all with the utmost patience, creativity and professionalism. You’ve helped us achieve the impossible, from mounting an international Bourdain-level shoot in Brazil in 3 weeks to bringing a whimsical edge to Edge Computing.”
— Jen Brennan, Senior Content Producer at IBM
“What we really enjoyed about Myriad was for such a multi-tiered and complicated project, they never once expressed any ounce of limitations or hesitations. They were wonderful collaborators and problem solvers; and we felt well taken care of every step of the way.”

Tony’s family has survived several gun violence incidents, including 2 active shooter events. We survived a shooting at a local store while shopping for my youngest daughter’s 7th birthday, my older daughter was held hostage while spending the night at a friend’s home, and we lost a friend and neighbor to gun suicide.
As a survivor and advocate, Tony has built friendships within a network of others—survivors of nationally infamous shootings, military veterans, suicide survivors and survivors of domestic violence. They have rebuilt their lives through deep perseverance and their stories have profound lessons on finding paths to thriving and building up others.
